After winning World Cup Match Germany-Argentina (4:0), Germany is out of control. This is a short summary on what I saw on the Leopoldstr. in Munich after the game.

I have less time to report… just tell you that it is beautiful here to see the nature with the autumn colors, we have great sunshine weather, very interesting group to work with and a lot of things to do…

I really like the conversations with Richard Pearce. We have a lot of talented students here and I am looking foward to shoot with them.

CHAPTER1:

STORY =  LIFE AND THINGS,THAT CHANGES YOUR LIFE THAT YOU HAVE TO BE ON YOUR OWN JOURNEY. THINGS YOU MUST DO TO GET YOUR BALANCE IN YOUR LIFE, TO ACHIEVE YOUR OBJECT OF DESIRE. THINGS THAT MAKES YOUR LIFE WORTH LIVING. THINGS FOR THAT YOU’RE READY TO TAKE ANY RISKS TO ACHIEVE IT.

No, i didn’t sleep when i entered the plane on wednesday… I climbed into the big fatass of a aeroplane, sat next to a nice old couple.. ursula and heinz. They fled to America in 1949 and it was a sad story about german history. They must fled out of their own country after the war because the neighbours thought they were traitors of their own country, because of working together and sympathizing with the americans. when they arrived in the USA, they were of course stamped as NAZIS. Also after 30 years trying to come back to germany wasn’t that fun at all… It must have taken 60 years until they could travel and visit old friends and family without being stamped als traitors or Nazis.

Heinz always combined his name with the advertising slogan of “HEINZ-Ketchup”-Brand, when the americans have problems to spell or to remember his name. He once had a confectionery for cakes and tortes. Ursula and Heinz managed this family business so well, they could buy a own house, send their children to college a.s.o. She was so proud to tell me about that she could give her children all the opportunities she never had.

We spoke a lot about relationships, community, future trends of society, generation trends and faith. When Ursula showed me a pin on her jacket, that is the symbol for believing in angels… I was really curious about that.. in fact she really didn’t want to tell me that sad story… but somehow about 5 little stories, i found out, that she lost her beloved son years ago. His death caused a lot of family destruction but they are fixing it. She made her own experience with this turning point in her life, and behind this story somewhere the facts about angels are hidden…

We agreed that pets are the re-incarnations of our relatives who are now keeping and eye on us. She told me about the funny things her dog does, what reminds her of her son. I also believe that my cat merlin is an very old soul … somehow related to me.

Ursula and Heinz remind me of my own parents… when we leave the plane, she said:”Thank you for the wonderful conversation, you’ll make it big, then you should think of me, because I wanted it for you. You have an old soul living in you. I wish you all the best… good luck.”

I felt like in a fairy tale, when a someone was making a magical prediction about the hero’s journey.

CHAPTER 2:

NEW YORK - A STORY BEGINS, WHO ARE THE CHARACTERS, WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CHARACTER AND CHARACTERIZATION? WHAT IS THE INCIDING INCIDIDENT?

Talking about other people’s life keeps me thinking about my own life and journey. Robert McKee is fascinating me, he’s like a hollywood dinosaur. I don’t know how he’s doing it, but this man is standing there on the stage, alone, talking 7 hours long to us and tells stories in a way you can’t stop listening.

He has a rude kind of humour, uses a lot of F***-words and is always very simple and clear about all his statements about politics, society and cultures… I think when I come out of this class, I’ll be ready to write a masterpiece or McKee is expecting this. I don’t want to make repititions here, because I try to microblog on facebook about some highlights.

I discovered that McKee is always talking about families or he tries to make examples with a family situation to explain the complexity of human beings and their behaviours to each other. Just to make clear that every character in a story is a breathing, thinking and feeling human being who has conscious desires and subconscious desires. that makes life so unrational, uncalculable, but also exciting. And everybody has a family-story from where he can get his own experiences and sources for a good psychological story.

STORY = LIFE. TRY TO STAY TRUE TO YOUR FACTS, BUT DON’T THINK THAT THE FACTS ARE THE TRUTH. FACTS ARE JUST CAPTURING THE TRUTH. THE WRITER MUST TELL THE TRUTH… IN ANY GENRE HE CAN CREATE A TRUTH OF AN CHARACTER, TO CHECK IT: ASK YOURSEL IF YOU WOULD BELIEVE THIS TRUTH.

CHAPTER 3

BE CURIOUS, BE SCEPTICAL AND CRITICAL, BE ANGRY AND HUNGRY, AND DO IT WITH A SPECIAL SPIRIT THAT IS CALLED - PASSION & LOVE.

I can feel it in this city. People are really passionate in the things they do. My friend André thinks there are only 2 types of people, who lives directly inside in NewYork -> Banker/Broker or Creative Artist..

I visited 2 parties in nearly 26 hours… live bands, live music and a lot of young american spirits.. fashion victims, dressed in unisex, looked like unisex human beings… the quality of the music and the atmosphere was superb, especially the band yesterday OUT OUT OUT (find them on youtube). Great performance and party.

It’s like beeing in BLADE RUNNER, when I walk through the streets with the big NEON-Banners and oversize digital advertisings… Everynight my feets hurt and I’m trying to discover the energy and the spirit of this city.

To be curious and hungry… I decided not to take a cab back home today, instead I hired a cyclo to bring me back home. It took three times longer than with a cab, but it was great fun. I had a good chat with the driver, who is originally a painter. He offered me a special price for the central-park-tour. I saved his number, when I come back to NYC in November, I will do this tour.

These are the first impressions of my journey and I hope you’ve enjoyed it… to be continued.

KEEP YOUR STORY GOING ON!

Hello everybody,

thnx again for the wonderful B-day-Party last week, especially thank you to my lovely Minou who organized a great surprise present for me with guillaume. I really thought, we would fly to Belgium to stay in a cold camping tent and I need to earn my food by cleaning toilets. That was the story she sold me.

Suddenly Guillaume was standing right in front of me, after 7 years, out of nowhere… wow. To make an assumption, this was one of the most beautiful b-day-nights I ever had.

Please just have a look at the pictures on flickr (I’m so feeding social networks and google right now :D) or click on the image below.

Thnx everybody for coming and having so much fun with me.

By the way,… ich muss dringend wieder abnehmen :)

Was bedeutete mir dieser Geburtstag?
